Riehle, Leonard (21 Sept. 1902 - 3 May 1960)
Funeral services were held Friday morning in St. Bernard’s Catholic church in Abbotsford for Leonard Riehle of Colby, Route 1, who died of a heart attack May 3 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Wausau. Rev. Raymond Schulz officiated and burial was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.
Mr. Riehle was born on September 21, 1902 at Athens where he received his education. He married Elizabeth Salzman on September 19, 1927, at Wausau. He farmed in this area his entire life.
Survivors are his wife; five sons, Wilfred of Marathon, Donald of Wausau, Leroy of Abbotsford, Clement and Leonard, Jr., at home; three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Merceda) Smart of Colby, Mrs. Leslie (Elizabeth) Kohl of Athens, Miss Mary Jane Riehle of Wausau; 23 grand children; two step children, Mrs. Michael (Loretta) Drewek of Wausau and Joseph Hendrick of Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Emma) Jaurke of Wittenburg and Mrs. William (Catherine) Woellner of Athens; five brothers, Peter, Anton and Joseph Riehle of Athens, Conrad Riehle of Wausau and Frank Riehle of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
